Good afternoon, my name is Tom Nicolai. I would like to present to you a concept for an emerging application of the modern mobile phone. My previous speaker already pointed out that mobile entertainment can be understood in a broader sense than gaming. Mobile entertainment is also related to news publishing services, for example football headlines and news about tonight's concerts, parties and other events.
What mobile phone users appreciate especially about their devices is the gain in spontaneity. Meetings can be arranged on the go and existing plans can be changed without much trouble.
Current news publishing institutions and services lag behind this trend of our time. They are generally still bound to the organisation and rhythm of the printing process. But with the technology of today, this process could be turned upside down and it could be adapted to the spontaneity of the mobile phone. And ultimately this could lead to a much richer, interactive and entertaining news experience.
